This Sunday evening, October 26th, in a grand finale for Asheville’s Bee-City, USA PolliNation Celebration, guru Jon Christie will discuss techniques of modern bee-keeping that help support our fragile mountain ecosystem. Jon is the proprietor of Wild Mountain Bees – he maintains a bee farm in Madison County and operates a retail location in Weaverville. A passionate advocate and educator, Jon’s work embraces a host of apiary services, including the generation of new colonies for would-be beekeepers, teaching beekeeping classes, and the sale of beekeeping supplies, honey, beeswax candles, bee related products, pollinator friendly plants, and gifts. This Sunday, Jon will focus on bee best-practices, and the challenges facing today’s bee-keepers. He will also share tips for us laymen on everyday ways to support the lives and work of these crucial insect pollinators. Jon’s presentation is free to the public, so please join the K2 staff and Asheville’s community of bee enthusiasts this Sunday at 5pm, at K2 studio, on the corner of North Lexington and College Street.
