Enjoy “Fresh” Blossoms All Year Round
We’re having a gorgeous fall in Asheville—and our leaves have not yet begun their technicolor change. The record rainfall we talked about earlier in the summer has also encouraged the fall flowers to bloom in profusion.
The native wildflowers, such as the asters, goldenrod, sunflowers, coreopsis, Joe-Pye-Weed, and ironweed, are a riot of yellow and purple along the roadways. The common cultivated flowers have loved the rain as well; backyard zinnias, cosmos, and black-eyed Susans are still reaching for the sky and producing lush, beautiful blossoms.
Since fall officially began just a few days ago, we know that soon the leaves in Western North Carolina will turn and winter will not be far behind. Even in winter, you can enjoy lovely flowers, though—we have a beautiful assortment of “evergreen” flowers to brighten any room, no matter the season.
Our handmade flowers are exclusive to k2 Studio and are made from both new and repurposed papers, such as old maps, newspapers, or vintage sheet music. We love them! If you visit the store, you’ll see them spread throughout our display areas, a single flower here or an arrangement there. While some of the flowers are recreations of actual varieties, such as tulips, carnations, and poppies, others are delightfully spontaneous creations. Whether you want a botanical replica or a modern floral interpretation, you can find it here.
So don’t despair over the coming of winter—take home an armful of our paper beauties and fill your house. They’ll keep you feeling cheerful until the daffodils poke their heads out again in the spring.
